The last little while has been particularly frantic in the Nevis Radio studio but we hope our hard work has led to some positive changes.
We’ve had some difficulties with signal reaching Skye and Mallaig way but we’ve nearly got everywhere back- so thanks for your patience! For us, May meant the arrival of the Scottish Six Day Trials- a big week in the Nevis Radio calendar. As usual, we broadcasted live from the West End car park with the help of John Moffatt, our trusted trials expert and his roving microphone. We also live streamed the whole thing straight onto YouTube which got a lot of social media attention and even managed to steal a quick interview with comedian, Ross Noble who was racing this year accompanied by a film crew from Dave for a documentary. To top off the month of May, we won an award! We have been awarded the TMT award for “Excellence in Multimedia 2017” which is super exciting, so we’d like to add a big extended thanks to everyone who listens and supports us- we couldn’t do any of this without you! We also managed to attend the Mountain Bike World Cup and Oban Live- all in the same weekend!
More recently, we had a great day broadcasting from West Highland College in the sun to celebrate Local Radio Day where we chatted with the students and staff about what they do. We also co-hosted with Nevis Range the first of our live ceilidh sessions on Aonach Mor. Thursday favourite Belle and Linda did a sterling job of broadcasting throughout the night and all the musicians were amazing, giving the whole event such a buzz! You can check out the recording of the ceilidh on the interviews section of this website. We can’t wait for the next one on August 10th! You can buy your tickets for it straight from Nevis Range.
